The translation engine extracts the exact sequence of words between HTML tags and then looks for the identical correspondence in the dictionary.

Why does one of the dictionary’s entries have no impact on the translation?
Verify that the entry that you have added to the dictionary is identical to the text displayed in the HTML source code. The case attributes must be identical and belong to the exact content of the HTML tag.

Can we replace SharePoint’s original translations that are found in the dictionary?
Yes. The main dictionary includes all of SharePoint’s native terms, which can be modified.

How can we edit the translation of a word or group of words on a given page, site or site collection?
There are two options that can be used to specify the translation:
1. The secondary dictionary for a given site takes precedence over the main dictionary.

How can an individual with administrative rights on the dictionary quickly access a word or group of words in the dictionary?
The dictionary is a SharePoint list. Consequently, SharePoint’s search tool can be used.

Is it possible to deactivate the translation on the content of a Web part without deactivating the translation on the Web part’s title?
To meet this requirement, use the two following Web part functionalities:
• Deactivation of the translation; and
• Associating a language to the web part.

The Oceanik module allows the use of every SharePoint content type, including the ones originating from content servers.

The Oceanik module includes a functionality that allows the multilingual filtering of static content, which allows the use of a different JavaScript code according to the displayed language. Please consult section 3.8 of the User’s Guide for more information.

Can we hide the language currently used from the language selection bar?
Example: When the page is in French, only the labels of the other available language will be displayed.
Yes. You can configure the Oceanik module in a way where every label in the language selection bar has its own associated CSS Class.

Yes. You can customize each language label of the selection bar or menus. You can also use images like country flags instead of textual labels.

How can we identify the version number of the currently used Oceanik module on a SharePoint Portal?
The version number of the Oceanik module is indicated in the HTML source code of the SharePoint pages.

For first-time visitors: Can we display the content in their language?
For example, when the first-time visitor is English, we would like to display the site in English.
This functionality exists and is activated by default with our Oceanik multilingual solution.

In other words, how can we deactivate the multilingual process for a particular section of the Web application?
The Oceanik module has a list of URL, pages, sites and site collections which can be used to deactivate or force the multilingual process on certain sections of the Web application.

Can we have a dictionary for each Web site?
The Oceanik module uses a global dictionary at the web application level. It is also possible to create a secondary dictionary for each site.

Can we create customized configuration lists for each site in terms of functionalities, the language selection displayed in the language bar or the exclusion of pages in the site collection?
